AK Treatment:

Zyclara® (Imiquimod 3.75%) as a Treatment Option for Actinic Keratosis

ZYCLARA® (imiquimod 3.75%) is a topical cream that belongs to a group of medications called immune response modifiers. It is used to treat actinic keratosis in adults with normal immune systems, and works by stimulating your body's own immune response.

ZYCLARA® cream is applied once daily for two weeks. There is a rest period for the next 2 weeks. ZYCLARA®cream is then applied for another 2 weeks or as directed by your physician. ZYCLARA® cream should be applied just before bedtime, after washing your face.

During treatment and until the skin has healed, your skin in the treatment area is likely to appear noticeably different from normal skin. Redness, scabbing, itching and burning are common at the site where ZYCLARA® cream is applied and surrounding area. New lesions may appear from below the surface. The change in the appearance of your skin and the development of new lesions is normal and indicate that the treatment is working. ZYCLARA® treats the lesions you can see and feel as well as those yet to come to the surface. If you have questions regarding treatment or skin reactions, please talk with your healthcare provider.
